Private Shuttle from La Fortuna to Herradura & Los Sueños

This is a door-to-door service. We pick you up at reception in La Fortuna, you travel with your own group in a vehicle reserved for you, and we drop you at the entrance of your hotel, rental or house in Herradura · Los Sueños. Rest stops happen when you want them.

One price covers the whole vehicle: fuel, tolls, taxes, insurance, bottled water, WiFi and child seats, with nothing to pay on the day. Standard takes you straight there; VIP, for $80 more per vehicle, adds sightseeing stops and a driver who doubles as a guide.

Herradura is a horseshoe-shaped bay on the Central Pacific, just north of Jacó, with a calm, dark-sand beach and a small village behind it. At the south end of the bay lies Los Sueños Resort & Marina, a gated community with the Marriott hotel, a golf course, condominiums and one of the country's best-known sportfishing marinas.

Visitors come for fishing charters, golf and boat trips, and for a quieter alternative to Jacó that is still only a few minutes away. Los Sueños has a controlled entrance; give us the name of your hotel, building or slip and the name on the reservation so we can get through the gate smoothly.

We confirm the pickup time with you when you book. With approximately 3 h 45 min of driving, even a late-morning departure from La Fortuna leaves most of the day free.

Near the coast it joins the Costanera Sur, Route 34, the highway that runs along the Pacific shore past the Tárcoles River bridge and the beach towns of the Central Pacific. From here on the driving is easy and the sea appears on the right.

The last few minutes leave Route 34 at the Herradura turn-off, a short road down to the bay. If you are going to Los Sueños, the driver stops at the security gate and continues to your hotel or building.

Route 702 over the mountains is paved but narrow and winding, with one-lane bridges, fog on the high section and a rough stretch reported in 2026 between Ángeles Sur and Bajo Rodríguez; Route 141 is the alternative if needed. On the way down to the coast you may meet heavy trucks on the climbs.

Route 34 around Herradura and Jacó is busy at weekends and on public holidays, when much of the Central Valley drives to the beach. Expect queues on Friday afternoons southbound and on Sunday afternoons northbound.

If a road closure or extreme weather means we cannot run your transfer on the day, our terms give you the choice of rescheduling or a full refund.
