From SJO airport (San José)
Leaving SJO, the driver follows Route 1 west and crosses to the northern lowlands on Route 702 or Route 141, reaching La Fortuna in approx. 3 h according to our fare table. Los Lagos is about 6 km further, just off Route 142. VIP transfers take the Vara Blanca road instead, for La Paz waterfall and the Cinchona lookout.
From Liberia airport (LIR)
From Liberia the lake road enters the La Fortuna area from the west on Route 142, so Los Lagos comes before the village. It is approx. 2 h 45 min of driving in our fare table, the slowest part being the curves along the north shore of Lake Arenal.
