From SJO airport (San José)
From Juan Santamaría you drive west on Route 1, cross the mountains on Route 702 or Route 141 and descend into La Fortuna, approx. 3 h in our fare table. Amor Arenal is 7 km past the town centre on Route 142. If you land after dark, you'll see little of the scenery, but the mountain curves are ours to drive, not yours.
From Liberia airport (LIR)
From Liberia airport the route runs south to Cañas, west of the lake to Tilarán and then along the north shore, entering the La Fortuna area on Route 142 from the lake side. You pass Amor Arenal before reaching town. The fare table gives approx. 2 h 45 min of driving.
