The Westin is the larger of the two Marriott hotels on the Reserva Conchal estate. Marriott lists 406 guest rooms, ten restaurants and two bars, a kids club included in the all-inclusive rate, a Heavenly Spa and an 18-hole, par-71 course designed by Robert Trent Jones II. Golf itself is not part of the all-inclusive rate. A review by Prince of Travel dates the resort to 1996, with an extensive renovation in 2019. The hotel is family-friendly and open to all ages, although the person checking in must be at least 18.
For a transfer, the estate itself matters more than the room count. Prince of Travel describes a large property where guests drive past other resorts to reach a roundabout and an open-air reception building, while accommodation is spread out and an internal shuttle moves people around. Marriott states that the hotel runs no airport shuttle and points guests to private car or van services, so the ride from the airport is something you arrange yourself.
Two hotels share this estate, and the W Costa Rica sits about 650 metres further along the beach. The name on your reservation is therefore the first thing we ask for. It goes on your voucher and is the name your driver gives at the estate entrance.

Getting to The Westin Reserva Conchal from SJO and Liberia
From SJO airport (San José)
Your driver meets you outside the terminal at San José with a sign bearing your name, and we follow your flight so a late landing does not leave you waiting. Marriott lists the hotel 259 km from SJO, and our fare table gives approx. 4 h 45 min – 5 h 15 min of driving. The route heads west on Route 1, the Inter-American Highway, passes Cañas and Liberia and then turns toward the coast. It is a full day on the road after a flight, so many guests who can choose prefer to land in Liberia. If you do come from San José, ask for a stop on the way; the VIP transfer adds one to two hours of sightseeing, and the Standard goes direct with a restroom break if you need one.
From Liberia airport (LIR)
From Liberia airport Marriott gives 62 km. Our fare table puts the drive at approx. 1 h 15 min – 1 h 45 min, and Prince of Travel quotes about an hour and a half in its review of the Westin, so we advise planning on the longer figure when you set an arrival time. The last part is the estate gate: a security checkpoint on the approach road verifies that you hold a reservation at the Westin or the W before letting you through, according to a review of the W. Your driver knows to have your name and the hotel name ready. The fare is $135 for up to five passengers, $190 for up to nine and $275 for up to twelve.

Practical notes for The Westin Reserva Conchal
- Check-in at the Westin starts at 3:00 pm and check-out is at noon, per Marriott. If your flight lands in the morning, plan for the hours before your room is ready; ask the hotel in advance what it can do with luggage until then.
- Travelling with clubs? The course is on the estate, but golf is billed separately. Tell us how many golf bags and suitcases you have when you book, so we assign a vehicle that fits all of them.
- A small aircraft is another way to arrive: the Tamarindo airstrip is about 15 km from the resort, and we can meet you there. Tell us your flight details and we will quote that pickup.

Yes. The vehicle goes through the estate gate and on to the hotel's reception area, where the hotel's staff handle the luggage. The estate has a security checkpoint, so make sure the hotel has your reservation, and give us the hotel name and the name on the booking.
We have golf clubs and several large suitcases. Is that a problem?
It is a matter of choosing the right vehicle. Tell us how many people, bags and golf sets are travelling and we will assign the vehicle that carries everything. Up to five passengers is 135 from Liberia, up to nine is 190 and up to twelve is 275.
Our flight lands late in the evening. Can you still meet us?
Yes. We follow your flight and the driver waits for you at arrivals even if it is delayed. Let the hotel know your arrival time as well, because the estate gate checks reservations, and keep in mind that the drive from SJO is much longer than from Liberia.
