SJO or Liberia: which airport for Playa Conchal?
From Liberia (LIR, Guanacaste): about 1 h 45 min and $135 per vehicle. From Liberia the drive runs south-west on Route 21 through cattle country, then on local roads via Huacas to the Reserva Conchal gate.
From SJO (Juan Santamaría, San José): about 5 h 15 min and $345 per vehicle. From SJO it is a long drive north-west on the Inter-American Highway into Guanacaste, finishing on local roads near the coast.
The difference on the road is 3 h 30 min and $210. Many travelers land at one airport and fly home from the other; we cover both legs.

About Playa Conchal
Playa Conchal is named after the tiny crushed shells in its sand, which give the water a clear turquoise color on calm days. It is one of the best-known beaches in Guanacaste, with snorkeling off its rocky points.
Behind the beach is Reserva Conchal, a gated community with a golf course, residences and two hotels, The Westin Reserva Conchal and W Costa Rica. The driver goes through the security gate to your lobby; just tell us your hotel or residence when you book.
