Secrets Papagayo belongs to Hyatt's Inclusive Collection and is listed as adults-only. Costco Travel and a hospitality venue directory both count 202 rooms and suites, including bungalow suites and Preferred Club rooms. Hyatt describes a main pool and a plunge pool on a terrace, a spa with outdoor couples' massage rooms, a pickleball court, and about a dozen bars and restaurants where no reservations are needed. Hyatt calls the rate Unlimited-Luxury: food, drinks and service are inside the price.
For the transfer, the layout matters more than the amenities. An independent review describes a hillside property where guests ride a resort shuttle between the lobby area and their bungalows, and Costco Travel notes there are no elevators. In practice, the vehicle stops at the arrival area, and the resort takes it from there. The same review, describing the Preferred Club check-in, says luggage is collected on arrival and delivered to the bungalow; other guests should ask at the desk.
None of the pages we read says that the airport transfer is part of the Unlimited-Luxury rate, so check your booking. One review mentions a paid shared shuttle run by a vendor the resort works with. Ours is a private vehicle for your group only, with a name sign, flight tracking, water, WiFi, and tolls and taxes already counted.

Getting to Secrets Papagayo from SJO and Liberia
From SJO airport (San José)
From San José the route runs north on Route 1 to Cañas and Liberia, then west toward the Gulf of Papagayo. Our fare table gives approx. 4 h 15 min of driving. Check-in is listed at 15:00, so we set the pickup time to bring you to the resort after that hour. A later flight simply means arriving in the evening. A VIP transfer adds one to two hours of sightseeing stops.
From Liberia airport (LIR)
From Liberia the resort is about 20 minutes away according to Visit Costa Rica, Costco Travel and an independent review; our fare table gives approx. 30 min. The fare is $110 for up to five passengers, $165 for six to nine and $250 for ten to twelve. Two or three couples travelling together can share one larger vehicle and arrive at the same time.

We take you to the resort's arrival entrance under the name on your reservation. From there, a review says guests use the resort's shuttle to reach the bungalows, because the grounds are on a slope.
Our flight to Liberia lands at night. Can we still get to the resort?
Yes. We follow the flight and the driver waits for you, whatever the delay. Check with the resort about its check-in hours for late arrivals; the sources we read give only the 15:00 start.
Can we add sightseeing stops on the way?
