The arenal.net guide places Casa Luna 3 km from La Fortuna and 1 km from the La Fortuna Waterfall, which puts it on a different road from the Route 142 hotels heading toward the volcano and the lake. Its official website is casalunahotel.com. A travel agency's Arenal guide lists it among budget options.
For your transfer, the different road changes the route at the very end, not the price: Casa Luna is in our La Fortuna fare zone. From Liberia, where most hotels on Route 142 come before town, Casa Luna is reached after crossing La Fortuna.

Getting to Casa Luna Hotel & Spa from SJO and Liberia
From SJO airport (San José)
From SJO the driver crosses the Central Valley on Route 1 and the mountains on Route 702 or Route 141 to reach La Fortuna, approx. 3 h in our fare table. From town it is a short 3 km on the road that leads to the waterfall. VIP transfers take the Vara Blanca road for La Paz waterfall and the Cinchona lookout; a different waterfall from the one near the hotel.
From Liberia airport (LIR)
From Liberia you come around Lake Arenal on its north shore and down Route 142 past the volcano hotels, through La Fortuna and out on the waterfall road to Casa Luna. The whole trip is approx. 2 h 45 min of driving in our fare table, plus the few minutes through town.
