Playa Flamingo is a curve of pale, almost white sand on the north Guanacaste coast, framed by a rocky headland covered in villas. It is one of the more upscale beach communities in the region, with calm water in the dry season, sunset views and boat trips, sportfishing and catamaran cruises leaving from the area.
Hotels include Margaritaville Beach Resort (the former Flamingo Beach Resort), and many visitors stay in the condominiums and houses on the hill. Potrero, Brasilito and Conchal are only a few minutes away, so it is easy to explore the neighboring beaches.

We collect you at your hotel or villa in Flamingo. Several houses on the headland are reached by steep streets; give us the property name or the location pin and the driver goes to your gate. The coast road leads south through Brasilito and inland to Huacas.
The run to Liberia airport is mostly Route 21: from your bay inland past Huacas to Belén, then the main road north-east through ranch land and small towns such as Filadelfia. The road is paved all the way to the terminal.

In the dry season, from December to April, the area is hot and dusty and the road is fast; in the green season, afternoon showers are common but short. Resorts and gated communities check vehicles in and out, which takes a few minutes.

How long is the drive from Playa Flamingo to Liberia airport?
About 1 h 15 min of driving without stops. Traffic, rain and stops come on top, which is why we add a margin of about 45 min when we set your pickup time.
What time will you pick us up for our flight?
We set it from your flight time: 3 hours at the airport before an international departure, plus the drive and a margin for the road. A flight at 2:30 p.m., for instance, means a pickup at about 9:30 a.m.; the exact time comes with your confirmation.
How much is a private shuttle from Playa Flamingo to Liberia airport?
$135 in a Hyundai Staria (1–5 passengers), $190 in a Toyota Hiace (6–9) and $275 in a Maxus V90 (10–12). Prices are per vehicle, in US dollars, with taxes included. VIP adds $80 per vehicle.
Can you pick us up at a villa on the Flamingo headland?
Yes. Send us the address or the location pin and the gate details when you book. If the driveway is very steep, the driver may ask you to meet at the gate.
Is the transfer the same from Flamingo and Potrero?
The price is the same, and Potrero is a few minutes further along the same road. We set the pickup for your exact address.
Do we pay the driver anything?
No. The fare is paid in full when you book, by card through Tilopay or by SINPE Móvil or bank transfer arranged on WhatsApp. There are no surcharges on the day and nothing to pay the driver; tips are up to you.
