The service
Your private transfer from Liberia Airport (LIR) to Nosara
A private transfer means the vehicle is booked for your group alone. After a long flight you skip the taxi queue, the rental-car counter and the shared-shuttle timetable: your driver tracks your flight, waits if it lands late and takes you from the terminal to Nosara, with stops only when you ask for them.
What you see is what you pay, per vehicle: fuel, tolls, taxes, insurance, water, WiFi and child seats are all in the price. Standard is the direct trip; VIP adds $80 per vehicle and turns the drive into a day with stops.
We confirm the pickup details with you when you book. With approximately 2 h 15 min of driving ahead, plan on arriving at the hotel in the afternoon or early evening if you land around midday.
Your destination
Arriving in Nosara
Nosara is the area of beaches, forest and small settlements on the Pacific side of the Nicoya Peninsula, best known for Playa Guiones, a long beach with gentle, consistent waves that has made it one of the country's surf and yoga centres. Development has been kept low and green, with houses and hotels hidden in the trees behind the beach.
Among the places we drive to are The Harmony Hotel, Bodhi Tree Yoga Resort, Olas Verdes and The Gilded Iguana. Just to the north is the Ostional refuge, famous for the mass nestings of olive ridley turtles. The local roads are mostly gravel, dusty in the dry season and muddy when it rains.
From the town of Nicoya the route heads towards the Pacific on paved roads, and then the last stretch into Nosara runs on gravel, through hills of forest and farmland. This final part is slow and dusty in the dry season, muddy in the wet.

Before you travel
Road conditions on the way to Nosara
Route 21 is paved and in good condition. The last stretch to the beaches uses smaller local roads, some with potholes or short gravel sections depending on recent maintenance and the season. Your driver chooses the best route on the day.
The gravel roads around Nosara are the slow part of the trip; dust is constant in the dry season and potholes and puddles appear in the rainy one. All our vehicles drive them regularly, and the driver adjusts the pace.
