The service
Your private transfer from Punta Islita to Liberia Airport
What you see is what you pay, per vehicle: fuel, tolls, taxes, insurance, water, WiFi and child seats are all in the price. Standard is the direct trip; VIP adds $80 per vehicle and turns the drive into a day with stops.
The drive takes about 2 h 30 min without stops. We add a margin for traffic and weather and work back from your flight, so you reach Liberia airport about 3 hours before an international departure. The table below shows what that means for the usual flight times.
The place you are leaving
Punta Islita in a nutshell
Punta Islita is a small cove on the Pacific coast of the Nicoya Peninsula, south of Sámara and Playa Carrillo, with a beach tucked between forested headlands and a tiny village behind it. It feels remote, which is exactly why people come.
Most visitors stay at Hotel Punta Islita, Autograph Collection, set on the hill above the cove with wide views over the Pacific. The surrounding hills are crossed by rural roads, and part of the final access is gravel, so the drive is slower at the end than the distance suggests.

We collect you at Hotel Punta Islita's reception or at your house in the area. The first part of the drive is on rural roads, partly gravel, before the paved roads toward Nicoya.

Route 21 is paved and in good condition. The roads from the beaches to Nicoya can have potholes or gravel sections depending on recent maintenance, and in the green season heavy rain can make them muddy and slower.
